TTH
- Wanted to let you and your readers know about the exciting Lake Trout action my son Jared and I found this week at
Crescent Lake. We had never fished Crescent before nor had we ever fished for Lake Trout previous to this trip.
We launched our boat at the "crack of dawn" and ventured out into the darkness. Since this was our first trip here we
had only a general idea of where to fish and settled on an obscure spot on the east side of the lake. Within 5-10 minutes
Jared landed a beautiful 7 1/2 pound Laker! We were so pumped up we would have been happy with that fish alone! We
had no idea at the time that this fish would be the smallest of our entire trip. We spent all of our
time trolling and found success from 65 to 120 feet deep. We primarily used broken-back Rapalas without a flasher.
The fish seemed to bite best early and went down in the water column as the temperature increased throughout the day. Crescent
Lake offers an amazing Lake Trout fishery and we are super excited about returning here and trying it once again.
Our
thanks to BWILD, RD, and all the contributors at Trophy Trout Hunter.
